Louth Triathlon-post race

17th September, 2014
  • Louth triathlon winner Ross McGregor

Where did the last 10 days go? It's been a busy period doing post race evaluations and looking ahead to 2015.

Race day on Sunday 7th September was a roller coaster ride of exhiliration, enlightenment and an early start. The inaugural Louth Triathlon was gifted with some gorgeous late summer sunshine and proved a warm one for some athletes on the run element of the race. With a 139 athletes turning up, out of the allotted 153 entries the scene was set for for epic battles of nerve and determination, with just 1 entry pulling up due to an injury. Ross Mcgregor of Louth Triathlon Club, fresh from his World Championship race in Canada came home in first place, setting the first course record of 1:04:22. Hot footing it behind him from Lincsquad was Ruth Wilson setting the fastest ladies time of 1:16:26. Is it coincidental that the last 2 entries to book onto the race were our first 2 winners?

The date is set for 2015 for the 2nd Louth Triathlon on Sunday 6th September. Early bird prices will be available during November when we confirm up everything with venues and suppliers.
