Thoresby10 is back for our 5th annual autumnal trail run in the beautiful grounds of Thoresby Park, north Nottinghamshire. Choose from a race over 10k or 10miles, running along old military roads, cleared tracks through ancient woodland and grassed paths around the country estate. The 10k route is The Longhorn race in reverse, the 10 mile race is the 10k route with an extra 4 miles added through more of the estates ancient woodland. The route includes a few hills to offer a small challenge around the course in some of the most scenic Nottinghamshire countryside as well as the forest & past the lake.

The Autumn colours should make this a race to remember in this natural area of beauty.The race takes you into Nottinghamshire's National Nature Reserve, through private areas that were once part of the 10,000 acres Royal Forest of Sherwood where the woodland is dominated by native Oaks as well as other native trees including Silver Birch, Rowan, Holly and Hawthorn. The reserve is also the site of Europe's oldest Oak tree plantation, containing over 1000 Oaks most of which are over 500 years old! Look out for the Longhorn Cattle of Thoresby Estate, who usually roam free in the forest, in their restricted fields for the race.

We are also offering a 5k run / walk for all levels. It's a different course that takes you past the beautiful church at Perlethorpe, through woodland groves & back onto the main field in front of Thoresby Hall. This event can be a gentle stroll with the family or a race to get your 5km PB. The 5km race is 2 loops of the course.

We welcome Canicross Runners across all distances - water stations will be provided to dogs regularly out on course & at Race Village. We recommend your dog wears a running harness & is used to running with you. Remember they need to train too! Don't expect your dog to run a distance just because you can! Please clean up after your dog & keep your dog on a lead at all times as this is a SSSI preservation area. Please book on using Canicross category. Canicross races are not under UKA rules & do not offer EA affilliated discount. 

BONUS TEAM RACE - As well as running individually you can team up with others as an extra bonus race! Your time can count towards a team race on the 10k & 10mile events. Teams should be made up of 3 people to participate. Trophies will be given for 1st team back but also spot prizes for 5th team & 10th team & 1 random prize so that the race is inclusive no matter how fast - or slow - you run! Register as team leader - name your team & others can sign up on your team by finding you as they book on. You will still get your individual chip time & place.

Race numbers (for all events) and your timing chip (for the 10k/10mile/5km race) will be given out on the morning of the race . Please allow enough time to collect these from Race Registration. Note registration closes;  10am 10k & 10mile Canicross; 10.15am 10k; 10.45am 10miles; 11am 5k Canicross; 11.15am 5k;

There will be hot food from Good Spuds (bacon butties & hot breakfasts - no potatoes) & homemade coffee & cake from Sunshine Van, plus bouncy castle and entertainment for the children - to be confirmed. Bring your supporters & a picnic blanket if the weather is good & they can sit on the lawns by the hall to watch the event unfold & cheer you on.

Our chosen charity partner – Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance are kindly assisting with the baggage drop this year. We are politely asking for a minimum donation of £1 per bag. We hope you can support them by fundraising for this event using a charity place & by donating on the day.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is at the forefront of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) in the UK, attending an average of three potentially life-saving missions every single day, 365 days of the year.

As a Charity we rely purely on public donations. We are not Government-funded and not part of the NHS. We provide the equivalent of an A&E department directly to the scene of some of the most serious and time critical 999 calls in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
