Rocky Road Run 2016

ROCKY ROAD RUN -   A brand new event from SBR Events 

Trail run. 4x4 course. Racing circuit. A completely different kind of run - full of the unexpected!

During the 1st meeting at Rockingham Circuit, it was always suggested that we could do something DIFFERENT at this venue! Well here it is!

THE COURSE

This race starts in the pit lane on the race circuit, you run around Europe's fastest racing circuit, exit the track & follow the pedestrian tunnel and emerge outside of the stadium.

 The course takes in parts of the venue that are generally unseen & will utilise parts of the 4x4 circuit which is there to test the endurance of the average off-road vehicle. Basically you are up & over hills, & down some interesting inclines into muddy waters. 

Upon inspection of the course we found a 'little' gate which leads to a small trail track that runs around the whole circuit (the perimeter) between the grandstand and the track. Once you've completed this section, it's a bit more in the 4x4 test area, back through the pedestrian tunnel, onto the circuit track & back into the race arena to start lap 2. The finish line is in the pit lane with a grandstand finish. Pick up your bespoke race bling, grab some hot food and a drink and have your muddy legs massaged back into shape!!

Viewing areas for spectators is on the roof of the grages with a full 360 view of the circuit track, but not the 4x4 area.

It's something completely different & with a distance of 25km (or 16miles) it's going to test your endurance & stamina & a great way to keep your winter training going.  The course is 2 laps so you get to see the scenery twice (there's always something you didn't see last time round) and twice the chance to get wet and muddy!!. The fun is made on the completion of our wackiest race. 

So if you want something different at the end of your 2016 running season and not worried how your trainers are going to look when you get home...THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

Pre-race email is sent out in the week of the race, timing chips and race numbers are collected on the day.
